Welch Center of Wine and Viticulture

Kiya Hudson, Welch Center Manager, was our host and guide on August 5, 2025. Kiya grew up in Van Buren County and received a degree from Lake Michigan College (LMC) in Wine and Viticulture in 2020.

She shared that Lake Michigan Vintners and LMC started the 1st commercial teaching winery in the Midwest in 2015. Students can receive an associate’s degree in Wine & Viticulture Technology.
