Amy shared that teacher development is an important and prominent part of the SJ Schools’ current Strategic Plan that aims to:
- Foster respect and kindness among students.Â
- Implement the tenets of Professional Learning Communities (PLC).Â
- Create student-centered classrooms which actively engage students.Â
- Establish curriculum and instruction maps for each grade.Â
- Differentiate classroom instruction to meet each learner’s needs.Â
- Provide Interventions targeted to each individual student’s needs- a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).Â
- Foster relationships between students and trusted adults.Â
- Expand services for emerging English learners.Â
