Lisa Altman is the owner and operator of the Great Lakes Training Center at 454 Shannon Way, St. Joseph, across from the old Fire and Ice Restaurant.
Lisa grew up in the Bay City area and has been a lifelong athlete, competing in several marathons and iron man events. Lisa opened the training center this year because she wanted to support all athletes, developing their physical abilities as well as their character.
The Training Center is a 9,000 square-foot facility that can accommodate a variety of activities. Lisa wants to build strength and wellness at every age, for both boys and girls. The Center embraces diversity in Wrestling, as well as other activities, such as Jiu Jitsu, Functional Fitness, Dance Fitness and Personal Training. The facility is also available for rent for a variety of community events.
The Center’s slogan is “Homegrown.” This reflects the heart of who they are. Community and the sense of belonging are very important to everything they do. They want to build a stronger community by empowerment and inclusivity.
