Our speaker for the day was Erik Webb, owner of “The Little Things Play Café.” He was accompanied by Cynthia Garcia, the café’s manager.
Erik and his wife, Britt, moved here from Chicago 9 years ago. They realized that there wasn’t much to do with their young children in the wintertime, so they opened their Café next to Papa Vino’s in St. Joseph. They wanted to create an atmosphere of community and connection.
Cynthia’s two children were active in Key Club. Because of this, they were familiar with Kiwanis and started a K-Kids Club. This is a Kiwanis-sponsored club for elementary students in grades K-5. Their goal is to help kids learn about community service and connection. During regular operational hours, parents can drink coffee and have conversations with other adults while their children play
